TORONTO — A Brampton man already facing charges in eight Toronto robberies has now been accused of two more bank robberies.

 

Toronto police said today Carlos Olivera, 43, of Brampton is now facing 20 charges in connection with 10 robberies that occurred between Jan. 7 and Feb. 8.

 

Last week, he was arrested and charged with eight robberies, but the ongoing investigation led to the additional charges.

 

Police said they have also arrested and charged a second suspect. Kevin Armstrong, 40, of Toronto, has been charged with three counts of robbery and three counts of wearing a disguise. Those charges relate to two bank robberies in Toronto and one in Ajax.

 

Olivera is now facing a total of 10 charges of robbery and 10 charges of wearing a disguise.

 

He was arrested Feb. 8 following a bank robbery on Lake Shore Boulevard West in Toronto.
